Employee Types
The types of employees are defined in Series 62:
- Full-time Regular (FTR) Classified Employees
- Full-Time Regular Faculty
- Non-Classified Employees
- Part-Time Regular (PTR) Classified Employees
- Temporary Employees
- Casual Employees
- Student Employees
Full-time Regular (FTR) Classified Employees – Section 2.1.1
- At least nine months
- No less than 1,040 hours in a 12 month period
- Benefits eligible
- Covered by classification program
Full-Time Regular Faculty – Section 2.1.6
- At least nine months, no less than six semester credit hours or the equivalent in teaching, research, public service, and/or administrative responsibilities
- Benefits eligible
- Not subject to classification program
Non-Classified Employees – Section 2.1.7
- Responsible for institutional policy formation
- Reports directly to the institution president or other positions designated by the president
- Benefits eligible
- Not subject to classification program
Part-Time Regular (PTR) Classified Employees – Section 2.1.2
- Works less than 1,040 hours in a 12 month period
- Not eligible for benefits
- Covered by classification program
Temporary Employees – Section 2.1.3
- Work in a position nine months or less
- Not eligible for benefits
- Covered by classification program
Casual Employees
- Works in a position created to meet specific operational needs
- 225 hours maximum in a 12 month period
- Not eligible for benefits
- Not covered by classification program
Student Employees
- Enrolled as a student
- Not eligible for benefits
- Not covered by classification program
